Attendance: Adam Castle, Matt Stenger, Crystal Kreklow, Ryan Cates, Alli Kuhlman, Zack Sowieja, Steve Wilking, Kurt Crosby, Eric Hesse, Luke Frederick, Marvin Sullivan, Lisa Vanderveen

Reflection/Celebration:

  1. Lisa-Congratulate people on new positions in Afscme: Looking forward to working with everyone. Email came out highlighting reduction in injury. 5 percent reduction. Kurt-many different avenues to look at this. Cates-osha recordable has actually raised. Injuries that don’t qualify has increased by 60 percent this year. We don’t think they are down so we would like to dispute. Kurt-osha recordable includes first aid rendered only. Injuries are up across the board. Reported under different umbrella. Kurt-this goes across the board with DHS also. Matt-different criteria change. What used to count doesn’t now. Lisa-I saw decrease so that’s why I said it, and thought that was a good thing.
  2. Crystal asking to record inversing with nursing and LPN as well moving forward: Kurt-instances of LPN calling in sick for 2nd shift. 4 RNs on shift. They will say they only need three. Then inverse LPN. But if LPN calls in sick they will offer to RN. Needs to be done within class. Alli-Tim Witty tracks that so we will try to do that.

Change in 14 days they will be asking for volunteers instead of just assigning.

CRP inversing: People working 8 to 4 inversed to late shift because of a sick call. Known need was at 8 o’clock therefore bypassing the contract. HR is working on that and should be done soon

  1. 1.      GMW office area in MSH: Cates-new hallway took away GMW area. Emailed Scott they should go to supervisor. Supervisor said to page him. They need their own area to do their work and personal emails/calls. Ideas for storage rooms by spruce and redwood. Luke: one has been converted to storage for supplies. Could do same thing with trash boat and convert to a little office with desk. Based on teamwork, this is eroding away the team aspect of job. Tasked with doing things no one else wants to and they deserve their own area. And secure personal belongings. They are open to other ideas. Alli-do you know if they have talked to their supervisor? Luke-not sure. Supervisor didn’t seem to want to work with them. Kurt-we understand there is a lot of things that go into planning for construction. Its surprising that so many things are overlooked. The idea of the office is overlooked and passed along from supervisor to supervisor. Lack of accountability with getting it done.
  2. 2.      Luke: if there is a probationary employee wants to put in vacation request for 6 months out they can do that for when they will be off probation. I asked scheduling. Told it would be approved. Physical plant schedules aren’t handled by the scheduler. Someone did put in for it and it was denied for this reason. We are asking they be treated the same as anyone else. Can also use comp during probation.
  3. Transition Inversing Process: Marvin-recently scenarios about agreement in transition and nursing home about inversing. LPN to HSSS role instead of HSSS. Matt-came after 3 months of talking in this office about it. Alli-occurring since September? Marvin-yes. Alli-I will look into it. Do you have any dates? Marvin-yeah, I will look.
  4. 4.      New Schedule and coverage assignments: Cates-Scott brought up new scheduling that OD will choose when there is a shortage as a requirement. MSOP uses it and it is not a requirement. They build it and MSH chose to do this. Why is od choosing when they don’t understand the needs. Hesse-in MSOP it shows a need and staff who is trained. Why can’t it be on there that this unit covers, not the individual? The program does not require it. Cates-why do they want to do it this way? Alli-I can follow up. I was under the same understanding it had to be this way. Cates-it is customizable. Kurt-there was a call made to the company and they confirmed that it can be done. Matt-staff feel mislead by Scott about the scheduling program. Alli-I’ll do some digging.
  5. Security Services Cross Training and Inversing: Cates-I had this addressed. Dan agreed they wouldn’t inverse in the other areas until they are 100 percent trained.

Add Ons

  1. Wall Construction: Kurt-wall erected last Friday in old canteen area. Over course of construction there would be a wall but there wasn’t a date given. Friday it began in afternoon. Why? Melby didn’t respond why. I feel there should be an answer. I asked for info why drills weren’t being ran. Carol responded and we had drills with other construction. Construction Joe wasn’t updated till Friday. Several ICS to new side of building where staff almost ran into the wall. Email from Brian about meeting on Tuesday and ways to do this safer. Was supposed to be additional a team before phase 1 wasn’t even done. That hasn’t been done. Lack of signage and training. Contacted tom Roessler and no one contacted me. I want to know why and I want it in writing. Staff are upset about this. 30 seconds to 1 minute added to responses. This is a huge amount of time for an ICS. Marvin-we were told there were additional staff added to cover that side of the building. We were told by staff this wasn’t happening. Not adding when you are moving from one side to another. It’s been over two weeks and still no response. Utility pool has 4 extras every day. They weren’t there. Alli-we will bring that forward to management. I can’t give an answer until I talk to them.
  2. Day on the hill is March 20th. Wondering for extra vacation slots to allow members to go. Matt-time crunch for this due to scheduling. Cates-people need the day off to go. Hesse-whatever you can give us by looking at scheduling. Alli-we can look at it and see what we can do.
