10/19/17 Local 404 General Membership Meeting Minutes

1. Secretary’s Report: Motion to approve meeting minutes by Crosby. 2nd by Stenger. Motion passes.

STATEMENT OF INCOME AND EXPENSES FOR MONTH ENDING September 2017 CASH BALANCE BEGINNING OF MONTH: 75966.02 INCOME FOR THE MONTH: 6847.32 EXPENSES FOR THE MONTH: 929.51 CASH BALANCE ENDING OF MONTH: 81883.83 SUBMITTED BY: Antonino Guerrero.

Motion to approve by Stenger subject to audit. 2nd by Headlee. Motion passes.

An inverse is considered an emergency so they are not obligated to give 7.5 hours in between shifts. Only scheduled shifts. Clarifying intermittent language according to overtime. Fighting with HR over interpretation. Cannot utilize arbitration when not involving contract violation. When session reconvenes in February, they have passed it in the past.  They don’t want AFSCME members upset in an election year. We need to make sure to put people in the legislature that affect our jobs. We need the governor’s office very badly next election. Now is especially with the Janus case coming through. If we have a democratic governor, he can veto this in Minnesota.

I am only one that applied for AGS position, I do not have an agenda to throw AFSCME under the bus. I have about 10 years left to work on the floor from my doctor.
